Step 1


Find the right Artist for your event.

  • Enter the location of your event.
  • Scroll through Song Hippo Artists.
  • Filter Artists based on Distance, Artist Type, Genre and Instruments Played.
  • Sort by Distance, Price, Name, or Rating.
  • Click on Artist Name to view their profile and other videos.

Step 2


When you have found the right Artist, submit a booking request.

  • Click the Artist Type button for your Artist: Solo_ArtistSmall_Group
    Full_Band  DJ   to submit a booking request, or click on the Artist's name to view the Artist's profile and submit your request there.
  • Enter in the details of your event, including date, time, number of hours, location and information about the venue.
  • Song Hippo will notify the Artist of the event and will have 48 hours to respond.

Step 3


Artist will confirm that they can accept the booking.

  • Artist will get a notification of the request and can Accept, Counter, Clarify, or Turn Down the booking.
  • You will be notified once the Artist makes their decision.
  • If the Artist accepts, you will need to submit payment for the booking to be finalized.
  • No Worries, Song Hippo will not pay the artist until the event is completed.

Step 4


Enjoy the performance and rate the artist.

  • Have a good time at your event.
  • Confirm that the artist performed and that everything went well.
  • Song Hippo will release payment to the Artist if you have not confirmed within 48 hours.
  • Don’t forget to rate and review the Artist to help others.

Step 1

Sign Up

Create your profile.

  • Create a username and password
  • Finish your profile by adding a photo and a PayPal link for payments.
  • Choose what type of Live performances you can do, Solo, Small Band, Full Group, or DJ.
  • Set a starting price per hour and the minimum hours for each service.
  • Select the genres and instruments that apply to your style.
  • Upload samples videos of one of your performances. Select the best sample to use as your default. NOTE: Without a sample video, Buyers will not be able to find you!

Step 2


Get Found and Get More Gigs

  • Song Hippo will feature you to buyers on their site and search engine.
  • Do your part and notify all of your email and social media contacts with your Song Hippo Profile Link.
  • Update all of your website, marketing materials, and social media profiles with your Song Hippo booking page.

Step 3


This is your business, treat it like one.

  • Respond to booking requests as soon as they come in.
  • You will have the option to accept, counter, clarify, or turn down any booking request but you must respond or it will go against your rating.
  • Confirm all details of the gig including any additional costs, equipment needed, and logistics.
  • If you are booked, show up at the event on time and do your thing.

Step 4

Get Paid

Once your performance is completed, you get paid.

  • The Buyer has 48 hours to confirm that your performance is completed.
  • Song Hippo will release payment to the artist’s tip jar if the buyer does not confirm within 48 hours.
  • Similar to Venmo or Paypal, you will need to request that payment be transferred from your tip jar to your desired account.
  • For the integrity of the platform, please do not request any forms of payments other than negotiated through Song Hippo.
